We are seeing more and more of our clients investigating the digitising of paper. Traditionally organisations with enormous quantities of documents (thousands of boxes) have been doing this but as the cost goes down those with hundreds of boxes are also considering digitisation.
Whether its legal documents, invoices or HR records, organisations are digitising as much of their paper files as possible. This is reflected in our current projects and the rise of services and solutions related to the process.
We have recently been discussing with a client who has just merged with another company the digitisation of a considerable number of files dating back decades, that they have inherited from the merger.
We advise that organisations use “day forward” – “the process of scanning, indexing and storing documents to an imaging system as they are produced or received in the normal course of business”.
